Say Goodbye to Fog
Let’s be real – no one likes fog! It’s one of those little things that annoys most people on daily basis. Thanks a lot, physics!
For many, fog can be much more than a little annoyance. It can be a really serious, life threatening issue! Fire fighters, construction workers, factory workers, snow boarders and deep sea divers are just a few of the individuals that can be effected by fog in moments where visibility is absolutely critical.
Fortunately, by properly applying Nano Magic Anti Fog solutions, fog can be eliminated and prevented! Make sure to follow the Do’s and Don’ts of Anti Fog below, to ensure your anti fog treatment is as effective as possible.
Applying Nano Magic Anti Fog Spray
DO…
Clean First
Anti fog is NOT a cleaner, we repeat, it is NOT a cleaner. Make sure you clean the desired surface thoroughly before applying your anti fog solution. (See our blog on cleaning techniques to learn how NOT to clean your glasses.)
Apply Sparingly
Our solution is very powerful, and can become less effective when too much is applied. Spray just enough to cover and coat the surface.
Let It Settle
Once you’ve covered the whole surface, we recommend waiting up to 2 minutes to let the solution settle and achieve the best bond. (Grab another cup of coffee while you wait)
Buff Away Excess
Use a clean microfiber cloth to buff away any left over liquid. This helps create a temporary nano coating that will keep you fog free for hours!
DON’T…
Apply on Dirty Lenses
If your lenses are dirty, the dirt will interfere with the anti fog solution’s sticking power. When it can’t stick, you’ll probably get a less than desirable patchy application leaving you with streaky and/or foggy lenses.
Over-Buff
We know you’re probably super strong, but flexing those muscles when buffing away extra moisture could seriously degrade the quality of your fresh nano coating. Be gentle, like you would with a flower petal or baby’s face.
Applying Nano Magic Anti Fog Dry Cloths
DO…
Clean First
In case you skipped the spray section and jumped right here: this cloth is NOT a cleaner, so you’re going to want to clean your surface first before trying to apply anything. (We recommend using Nano Magic Lens Cleaner)
Breathe On It
Fun fact: our dry cloths are dry! We use fancy science to make them that way, so that they can be reused (up to 10 times). This means you’ll need to add a little bit of moisture to the surface by breathing on it to help activate the magic.
Rub Gently
Like we mentioned in the spray section above (see “baby’s face”), you’ll want to be gentle when applying your anti fog. Rub in a circular motion and make sure to cover the entire surface.
Store in a Zip Loc Bag
This is important if you want to re-use your cloth. Protecting it from the elements by storing it in a Ziploc bag will help it last longer and ensure your future applications are equally as effective as the first.
DON’T…
Apply on Dirty Lenses
Dirt + friction = scratched, foggy lenses. Clean lens + friction = fog free vision!
Rub with Microfiber
Unlike the spray version of our anti fog, the dry cloth version does not require any additional rubbing. Using a microfiber cloth after application can remove some of your coating, making it less effective and less long-lasting. We only recommend this if there is a significant haze left over on the lens, which usually is a result of not cleaning it first.
*It’s also possible to see a slight “rainbow” effect on the lenses – this is totally normal and has no effect on your vision. It’s just the magical oils doing their job to prevent fog!
We’re confident that by following these Do’s and Don’ts, you will ALWAYS have a perfect application. If you’re still having trouble though, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll do whatever we can to help you achieve fog free vision.
